My ideas are simple. If a product is securely made, designed well, with high quality and sold at an adequate price, a reasonable person would like it. As a designer, as a retailer and as a restauranteur, I always keep this principle in mind. |

PROFILE : Born in 1931 in Surrey, England. After graduating from the Central School of Arts and Crafts, he became a freelance designer and at the age of 21, he established Conran & Company. In 1953, he opened a restaurant called Soup Kitchen and after that continued opening several more unique restaurants and established a strong reputation. In 1956, he established The Conran Design Group, and in 1973, he started The Conran Shop. In 1983, he was awarded a knighthood in the Queen's New Year's Honors in 1983, for services to British design and retail. He has also contributed to the culinary field by revolutionizing the British culinary art so much at the forefront of the development of the restaurant industry in London during the 1990’s. He is an interior designer, and also one of the most successful businessmen in the field of retails and restaurants.
